Salmo 123 (Psalm 123)

Holy / Santo

Composed in spring 2010, this is my musical version of the liturgical prayer "Holy" (English Catholic liturgy) and "Santo" (Italian Catholic liturgy). For this composition, I tried to follow these criteria:

• Straightforward melody and straightforward rhythm. Ideally, the average person should be able to sing it along after hearing it just once.
• Faithfulness to the original liturgical text, without any unwarranted transliteration.
• Decent vocal harmony that can be executed with a variety of configurations of singers.
• Potential to make it sound good with whatever accompaniment instruments available, or just a cappella.
• Major key.

Daily Psalms 2009

The lyrics of these songs are from the daily readings of the Roman Catholic Lectionary, available online on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. All the music was composed by me, following the inspiration I got from these psalms.
